Festival accreditation

Press FAQs

Here we will provide answers to technical questions that journalists and photographers might have. We have tried to be as clear as possible but if you still need more info, contact Isabel Brinck by e-mail or by phone 514-932-1112 ext. 24.

CAN I GET A GENERAL PASS FOR THE FESTIVAL?

NO, BUT...

Because of fire regulations and for security reasons, no general passes can be given out except to the official media partners of the Festival and to accredited photographers, who will not require seats. But once you're accredited, you get complimentary tickets.

DO I NEED ACCREDITATION?

YES

How to get your accreditation:
Fill in the accreditation form. Click here to download it and send it back to us by fax at 514-932-1148 or email at communications@bluemetropolis.org. The form will also be available at the Festival press room.

DO I NEED TO GET TICKETS?

YES and NO

YES, if you're a journalist: Accreditation does not give you access to the events but allows you to obtain complimentary tickets for the events when you go to the ticket office. No one can enter a room to attend an event without a ticket (unless it's a FREE event ).

NO, if you're a photographer: You may show your accreditation to get in the room. Please note that we don't reserve seats for photographers. Please limit photos to the first 15 minutes of an event.

HOW DO I GET MY COMPS?

Once you're accredited, you may go to the Festival ticket booth to ask for complimentary tickets (while supplies last). Press allocation is limited. You can obtain only one complimentary ticket per event. If you want more tickets, you will have to buy them. You can also provide us with a list of events you would like to attend (please mention the event numbers and titles) and send it back to us by fax at 514-932-1148
Please note you must be accredited to get comps.

MAY I INTERVIEW PARTICIPANTS?

YES

Prior to their arrival in Montreal: When the interview relates to the participant appearing at the Festival, we will do everything we can to facilitate this.
At the Festival: We will arrange the best possible access.

CAN WE FILM/RECORD EVENTS AT THE FESTIVAL?

YES, BUT...

Radio stations or TV channels (local or international) have news access to the Festival, but may not film/record more than three (3) consecutive minutes, nor broadcast more than ninety (90) seconds, of any scheduled event. Access to the site is, of course, available for discreet crews, provided that they are accredited. For CBC BLUE / RADIO-CANADA PREMIÈRE CHAÎNE events (they are clearly identified as such in the programme), a special authorization may be obtained from the producers.

If you are doing a feature about one of our participants, you may contact Isabel Brinck, Communications Director, at 514-932-1112, ext. 24 or communications@bluemetropolis.org to negotiate an agreement to credit the Festival in the finished product.
